What is Twitter and What Can I Use It For? |
What is Twitter? Twitter has gained popularity as one of the newest powerful Social Networking sites online today. I’m sure you have heard of Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, etc. these are all social media sites. Each site has it’s own demographics. Each site has it’s own uses as well as it’s own set of rules for use.
Twitter establishes a basic need to stay in touch with people it is human interaction through short or brief messaging and always answering the question of what are you doing? The main difference behind twitter is the way in which you communicate. Twitter only allows 140 characters of communication at one time. so in actuality you may only type in 140 characters of text per communication. Do you see the beauty in this you are actually texting your followers. These little communications are called tweets. I know this all sounds very cute. But it isn’t cute at all, it is nothing short of a powerhouse. Although texting seems to be a simple form of communication you will see the power in twitter once you sign up.
I went to a seminar recently about social networking where one of the speakers had his laptop open and was conversing with his twitter following during the seminar. This guest speaker was keeping everyone informed as t what he was doing during the seminar. Many may consider this to be too high tech? Think again. Im sure that you or others you know send out hundreds of text messages on their cell phones. Twitter uses texting as their primary platform.
Once you learn the ropes you will be able to market your business and make contacts very quickly. There is an easy way to do this by building a huge list of followers.
