You Aren’t Marketing Your Business on YouTube? Your Competition IS!

If you have a blog where you want to reach more people and share your ideas, or an online business where you want more customers; (and who doesn’t want that?) you really need to be creating videos and uploading them for people to view – Video Marketing is BIG!

If you aren’t doing this and your competitors are, then they are taking customers from you that don’t even know you exist. If they aren’t producing video for YouTube or their own sites then you need to make sure you get those customers they are missing.

Compete.com shows YouTube as having 85 million unique visitors July 2009! Imagine for a moment what sort of traffic you would get from a viral video with 100,000 views… 200,000 views…. 1 million views! A certain percentage of those people would visit your site and a percentage of those would sign up for your newsletter or buy something from you.

Now if my math is right, and you get 1 million views for a video and only 3% of those viewers visit your site that is 30 thousand visitors! If only 3% were to opt in or buy your product that’s 900 sales or opt ins! Sound pretty good?

I know it’s very difficult to get a video with 1 million views, but take a look at YouTube and see what videos are that popular. Why are they so popular? What is great about them? It’s not the production value, it’s not because they have celebrities or cost a large amount of money to create.

These videos are crazy popular because they are extremely funny, or cool, or amazing for some reason. The videos can be planned or spontaneous, but they are NOT selling something, they are NOT outwardly trying to get customers or build their mailing list. If you want a video to have a chance at going viral, you can’t be selling in the video; you must let the video sell for you!

In door-to-door sales years ago we had a saying that you should “sell the sizzle, not the steak”. What does this mean to you? If I’m selling plant food for gardeners, do I tell them how wonderful the fertilizer is and how many nutrients are in it? NO! I don’t want to sell the customer on the fertilizer, I sell them on the end result my product gives them: BIG tomatoes, and that’s the sizzle!

Give the viewer something in your videos for free. We are a digital camera repair shop and can’t make videos about how to repair every camera, but your customers are looking for something regarding your business, so find out what it is and give it to them!

Teach them something, give them information they are looking for, entertain them. Become an authority on your topic, and they will love you and gladly tell others about you.

You don’t need professional quality videos, but you do need to make them viewable and understandable.

  • You don’t have to have an HD quality camcorder, but make sure that it is good quality and you have plenty of light!
  • Make sure to have a good quality microphone. Poor audio will drive away most viewers, guaranteed.
  • Use a solid backdrop, don’t show your cluttered basement or office or bedroom unless this is part of your presentation
  • Write a script or at least notes regarding what you want to say
  • Practice and view your results before publishing it. Ask others for opinions and feedback!
  • Everyone hates the sound of their own voice; but that is how we hear you so don’t worry, you sound fine.

Keep going, things will keep getting better along the way!

Now I’m off to try and figure out what my customers are looking for regarding camera repair or more specifially, Canon digital camera repair and then just give it to them.

Increase Your Income With Article Marketing

When I first started my online business, I had no idea how to drive traffic to my website. After building the site, I went ahead and put it up on the Internet waiting for the flood of Buyers to come in. What I found was that nobody came to my grand opening. At that time, I had never heard about article submission sites or article marketing~It was a quiet day when we set up our website and found there to be zero traffic waiting to beat down our doors. It was then a friend told me about article marketing and said I needed to read some article submission site reviews and learn about article marketing}. What we didn’t know was how to get people to come and look at our products and services we had to offer.

This is a common problem facing many new and established online businesses needing to make extra money. What all Website owners learn quickly is that they need traffic to their website to get the word out about their products or services or they will risk losing everything. You need to find ways to promote your Website, so start by doing a keyword search with the phrases “article marketing” and “traffic generation”. The information you find will get you off to a good start driving traffic to your new site.

Promoting yourself cheaply and effectively can be done by article marketing. It takes little time to put together an article if you are inexperienced but here are some tips to write good articles in a short amount of time.

Go ahead and type in the keywords relating to your product or services into a search engine. Start with ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and forums etc. Find an article with a good title and start reading. If you like what you are reading, then, spend some time and jot down a few of the key points in that article.

Don’t underestimate the importance of your Title. Use keywords that describe your product or service in your title. Using the points from the article, go ahead and begin writing in your own words about the product or service you want to put in your article. You know what it is that you are selling, so go ahead and be a little creative making sure to use the key words that will help when people are searching for that on the internet.

Now that your first article is written, it’s time to get it distributed to hundreds of other places. To do this use a good article directory. These are some good places to start. They are articledashboard.com, goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com, articlesbase.com. You can also use programs to send out your article to thousands of directories at once.

Every article your write should have links back to your site. This will help you climb up through the search engine rankings, bringing you more and more traffic as your site gets more popular. Use keywords in your title and use phrases that will catch people’s attention. This will help lure potential customers to your website.

Article Marketing isn’t rocket science. All it takes is a few article each week and you can boost the traffic coming to your website in a short amount of time
