First Page SEO Results

Here is a case study of the revenue that a client achieved by optimizing a single keyword that moved from the bottom of the second page of Google to a number 4 position, above the fold on the first page.

A client’s website had a ranking of 18 for their primary target keywords on the second page of Google’s natural search engine results. Tracking the Moves

The list below shows the search engine ranking relative to the number of sales leads that were generated from the company’s primary target keyword:

  • Dec 08 – position 9 = 31 leads
  • Jan 09 – position 9 = 126 leads

A ratio of at least 1 percent, or one keyword phrase for every 100 words, is important. The 1 percent is a key measurement in the algorithms search engines use to determine the worthiness of an article to be ranked highly.

Recommendation: Use the word count tool on your word processor to accurately count the number of words in your article. When done, check the number of words. More than 500 words are in this article. The number of keyword occurrences must be one more than the number of hundred words (in this case, “5″).
